Members have consistently raised concerns about uniforms being uncomfortable, poor quality, ill fitting, lacking warmth and not meeting the needs of the job. In particular, women have expressed serious concerns about sheer shirts, buttons that come undone, size inclusivity and the absence of pockets in skirts.

We are disappointed in V/Line’s response and call on V/Line to respect concerns raised by members by creating a uniform committee to review the uniforms for Conductors and Station Staff. 

We call on V/Line to:

1. Establish a uniform committee to review the uniforms for Conductors and Station Staff.

2. Consult all staff, including through surveys and trials.

3. Ensure equal representation of women and men, union delegates, HSRs and management.
